BME 370: Intro to Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, Spring

This course introduces upper-level undergraduate students to the principles of bioinformatics analysis applied to translational studies. Application topics include genomic data analysis, biomarker development, statistical modeling, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, and clinical trial design. The goal of the course is to give students the opportunity to gain familiarity with bioinformatics and biostatistics techniques currently employed in biomedical research, and to facilitate better understanding of the computational aspects of translational biomedical studies.

BME 501: Computational and Systems Biomedicine, Fall

This course introduces undergraduate and graduate students to the principles of computational and systems biomedicine. The students will learn how to apply probabilistic and network models to answer biological questions using high-throughput genomic data.
